Stephanie Marie McMahon was born on September 24, 1976 in Hartford, Connecticut, New York, USA to Vince and Linda McMahon. Her father, Vince is the chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment, while mother Linda is CEO of WWE. Stephanie is a sister of Shane McMahon and wife of Paul "Triple H" Levesque. Now Stephanie is Senior Vice President of Creative Writing for WWE.

Stephanie appeared first with the WWF at Rowdy Roddy Piper's Halloween party. From the age 13 she was appearing in WWF Magazine ads to model various wrestling paraphanilia. Stephanie's mother wanted that she should made her career elsewhere, but Stephanie wanted to work with family.

Stephanie attended Boston University. After completing graduation in 1998, she became an Account Executive at Titan Sports in New York. Also she was started appearing on WWF TV. Stephanie first appeared when she passed Stone Cold Steve Austin in a hallway. Since then, she was occasionally appeared with her mother Linda McMahon.

Stephanie came into spotlight when the Undertaker kidnapped her as part of his "Ministry of Darkness" angle and pushed into the WWF spotlight. The Undertaker has arranged an unholy wedding between himself and Stephanie. While Steve Austin (her dad's nemesis), who came to save her.

Later Stephanie and Linda had sold their WWF ownership to Austin, who now became the CEO of WWF. As a part of business Austin arranged a match for members of the Union stable with anyone they wished. But during the ceremony Triple H came and showed a video, which includes that he had drugged Stephanie and married her in Las Vegas, Nevada in a drive-through ceremony. Unfortunately ended the relationship between her and Test. At first she had extreme dislike for HHH, but later sided with him.

When Vince was absent as a result of injuries during the match with Triple H at the 1999 Armageddon event, then Triple H and Stephanie became the onscreen owners of WWE in 2000. This period was known as the "McMahon-Helmsley Era". The same year HHH own the WWF Championship, while Stephanie own the WWF Women's Championship.

Steph was sided with Vince and Shane when both of them helped HHH defend his title against The Rock, while leaving Linda McMahon alone in the McMahon family. In August 2000, Lita own the WWF's Women's Championship against Stephanie in the RAW main event. Later Shane sided with Linda and became against with Steph and Vince.

Stephanie and HHH get divorced in 2002, when Stephanie falsely claimed to be pregnant in order to trick Triple H into renewing their marital vows.

After the divorce started being against Triple H when he wants become the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World. When Triple H owns the Royal Rumble, Stephanie appointed herself as a guest referee in a match at No Way Out 2002 between Triple H and Kurt Angle. Kurt won thanks to Stephanie's somewhat suspect officiating, but still Triple H defeated him the next night. Thereafter Steph sided with Chris Jericho. But on March 17 at WrestleMania X8 Jericho lost to Triple H. But Jericho lost to Triple H at WrestleMania X8 on March 17. While on March 25 in the episode of RAW Jericho and Stephanie lost to Triple H.

Steph returned to WWF as the general manager of SmackDown! on July 18, 2002. She had a team of Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker, but also has lost Triple H, Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, Christian, and Test.

She was ejected from her position on October 19, 2003 after losing the match "I Quit" against her father Vince. Vince was conscious about her growing independence and was angry about her objection to stop him from pursuing an affair with Sable, so decided to quit her. Steph later appeared in 2004 on the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Also appeared on the fifth year anniversary episode of SmackDown!.

In 2005, Steph was appeared at WWE Homecoming when she confronted "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Thereafter she appeared on RAW for two weeks. She was also involved in the firing of Austin's friend and RAW announcer Jim Ross. Several days before the Eddie Guerrero RAW tribute show, Steph had taken nasal surgery to help breathing. In December 2005, she returned to RAW in the mock trial as a witness of Eric Bischoff.

In March 2006, she returned to RAW match and approached Shawn Michael and claimed that she have abdominal pains. When Shawn left to get water for her, Steph added some powder his water, which lead him to become groggy during the match against Shane McMahon. Shawn later lost to Shane. Later in April 2006, she appeared at the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
