Sean Paul was born on January 8, 1973 in Kingston, Jamaicais. He was born to a Portuguese and Jamaican as Sean Paul Henriques. Zion Lion and King of Israel are his nicknames.

Sean Paul has Portuguese heritage from his paternal grandfather, African heritage from his maternal grandfather, Sephardic Jewish heritage from his paternal grandmother and Chinese heritage from his maternal grandmother. And his parents are Jamaican natives.

Sean Paul was educated at Wolmers High School and the exclusive Bel Air High School in uptown Mandeville. Sean Paul played water polo for the Jamaica National team and also in 1989 and in 1991 he was representative of his country in swimming in Carifta Games. The artists including Lt. Stitchie, Major Worries, and Supercat influenced Sean Paul. Sean developed his skills by making dubs and playing barbecues.

In 1997, Sean Paul recorded in combination with Spanner Banner on the Jamaican chart-topper, "Ladies Man", through the singer's Sweet Angel Productions. In 1998, hit albums like "Work With It", "Hot Gal Today", "Woman Yuh Hot", "Report To Me" and "Faded" are released.

In 1999, Sean Paul's career was established when he embarked on a hectic touring schedule taking in Japan, Europe and USA. Mr. Vegas and American rapper DMX collaborated him on a contribution to the soundtrack of Hype Williams Belly.

In 2000, Sean Paul released his first album, "Stage One" but the album was failed to gain public interest. After two years anther album "Dutty Rock" was released. His third album, "The Trinity" was released on September 27, 2005.
