World's biggest soccer player Ronaldo called as Rona is Brazil's biggest soccer hero from the time of Pele. When he was 17 years old he was placed in the Brazil's 1994 World Cup squad. As he didn't played at that time and Brazilians won the cup. In the 1994 only, he joined the Dutch professional team PSV Eindhoven.

At PSV he played for a couple of seasons before moving to Inter Milan via a short spell at Barcelona. In the 1996 Barcelona purchased his professional contract and the next year he joined the Italy's F.C Internazionale Milano. From 1996 to 2002 he remained in that team only and after that he transferred to Real Madrid.

In the year 1996 and 1997 Ronaldo was named as FIFA's World Footballer. He is not only become the youngest player who win the award but also become a player who win awards in consecutive years. He also takes part in the World Cup of 1998 and scored four goals and leads Brazil in the finals.

Ronaldo name was given to him from the Dr. Ronaldo Valente's name who attended his birth. In the Brazilian soccer tradition the star players are known only by their first name. Ronaldo wears jersey which has number is 9. So sometimes he was called as R9. In the 1994's World Cup Ronaldo's jersey reads Ronaldinho to distinguish him from another teammate player of same name.
