Mischa Barton (Mischa Anne Barton) was born on 24 January, 1986 in London, England to Richard Barton and Nuala Barton. Her father is with English descent, while mother is of Irish descent. Mischa has two sisters Hania and Zoe (a London barrister). Mischa's family was moved to New York, when she was four years old. Mischa has attended Professional Children's School in Manhattan.

She first performed when she was eight years old. Performed at summer camp. Her performance impressed an agent who was scouting for talent and praised about her to her parents. As a result Mischa auditioned for the lead role in Tony Kushner's play "Slavs!". At the age of nine she was performed with lead role in "Slavs!" with the future Oscar winner Marisa Tomei. The role was demanding a Russian accent, she found an acting coach who helped her in it.

Mischa got a very good reviews for that which led her to lead roles in many plays. Mischa appeared in lead role in James Lapine's "Twelve Dreams", and "Where the Truth Lies" and "One Flea Spare" in the New York Shakespeare Festival. In 1996, Mischa appeared on the ABC soap opera "All My Children", which is a recurring role where she worked for a year. Later Mischa signed to the Ford Modeling Agency. Mischa has worked for Calvin Klein campaign and also for the likes of Gitano and Vogue.

In 1997, Mischa landed her debut role in film "Lawn Dogs" opposite Sam Rockwell. Since then Mischa has appeared in many films including "Pups (1999)", "Notting Hill (1999)" with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, "The Sixth Sense (1999)" and "Lost and Delirious". In 2000's Mischa appeared in "Skipped Parts (2000)", "Paranoid (2000)", "Tart (2001)", "Julie Johnson (2001)", and starred in "Lost and Delirious (2001)".

Once again returned to television, Mischa appeared in a recurring role on ABC show "Once and Again" during its 2001-2002 season. In 2003, casted in the horror thriller "Octane (2003)" with Madeleine Stowe. Mischa was graduated from high school in 2004.

In 2006, Mischa appeared in FOX TVs primetime show "The O.C.". It was her one of most popular role, where she played a role of a wealthy and popular Orange County high school student who has difficulty adjusting to her surroundings. The show was geared around the young adults and was the most critically-acclaimed show. Mischa was appeared in one-time appearance in the Fox show "Fastlane". Also appeared in James Blunt's video "Goodbye My Lover" and Enrique Iglesias's video "Addicted".

Mischa worked for many advertisements including Aéropostale, bebe, Dooney and Bourke, JC (Jeans and Clothes). Also appeared in Keds sneakers commercial. Mischa is currently appearing in Neutrogena print ads.

Mischa Barton's Personal Life:

  • Mischa is in relationship with Cisco Adler (son of legendary record producer Lou Adler) since November 2005.
  • Mischa was also dated oil heir Brandon Davis for a year (March 2004-July 2005).
