Johnny Depp was born on 9 June 1963 in Owensboro, Kentucky, USA. He was born to John Christopher Depp, Sr. and Betty Sue Palmer. Johnny Depp has a brother named Danny and two sisters, Debbie and Christie. He was very close with his grandfather who died when he was 7 years old.

At the age of 15, Johnny's parents divorced, then he dropped out of school a year later to become a rock musician. He played with a band named "The Kids", the successful band. He was the guitarist in that band.

On December 24 1983, Johnny Depp was married with Lori A. Depp and separated in 1986. His wife, Lori A. Depp introduced him to actor Nicolas Cage, who advised Depp to turn to acting.

After the divorce with Lori A. Depp, Johnny Depp has dated and been engaged to Sherilyn Fenn, Jennifer Grey, Winona Ryder and Kate Moss. And now days he is in relationship with French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis. They met in 1998 while filming "The Ninth Gate". Johnny Depp has two children by Vanessa Paradis, a daughter, Lily-Rose Melody Depp was born on May 27, 1999 and a son Jack John Christopher Depp III was born on April 9, 2002.

In 1984, Johnny Depp's first film, "A Nightmare on Elm Street" was released. Wes Craven directed the film. In this movie, Johnny Depp played a role of Glen Lantz. After this movie, his so many films were released including "Private Resort" (1985), "Slow Burn" (1986), "Platoon" (1986), "Cry-Baby" (1990), "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (2005), "Corpse Bride" (2005), "Deep Sea 3D", etc.

In 1990, his movie, "Edward Scissorhands" was released. Tim Burton directed the movie and he played a role of Edward. For this movie he was nominated for Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy. His upcoming movies may include "Pirates of the Caribbean 3" (2007), "Shantaram" (2007), "Ratatouille" (2007), "The Rum Diary" (2008), etc.
