Ewan McGregor was born on March 31, 1971 in Crieff, Scotland. He was born as Ewan Gordon McGregor. His father, James McGregor was a teacher and mother, Carol McGregor was also a teacher. His brother, Colin McGregor is a Royal Air Force pilot. His uncle, Denis Lawson is a actor, born on September 27, 1947. He is nephew of Denis Lawson.

Ewan McGregor enjoyed swimming and sub-aqua diving. He learned the guitar, drums and French Hornand riding was his big hobby. Singing is also one of his hobbies. At the parties, he always entertained his friends and family. In 2001, Ewan McGregor sang alongside Nicole Kidman in the movie "Moulin Rouge!".
