Eminem was born on October 17, 1972 in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. He was born as Marshall Bruce Mathers III. He was born to Marshall Mathers Jr. and Deborah Mathers - Briggs. He has a half brother named Nathan, was born 1986.

On June 14 1999, Eminem married with Kimberly Anne Scott and divorced on 11 October 2001. He remarried with Kimberly Anne Scott on 14 January 2006. Eminem and his wife Kimberly Anne Scott first met at one of his friend's houses, when Eminem was fifteen and Kim was thirteen. He has a daughter, Haile Jade Scott was born December 25, 1995. He also adopted one child, Alaina Matthers III.

Eminem's early childhood involved a lot of traveling between Kansas City and Metro Detroit. At the age of 15, his father abandoned the family and the two have not had contact since. Because of constantly changing homes, he frequently changed schools. During 1986 to 1989, he attended Lincoln High School in Warren.

Eminem wanted to be a comic book artist. During 1996 to 1998, Eminem was worked at Gilbert's Lodge (a family restaurant) in St. Clair Shores. Eminem began performing at the age of 13, later he gained some popularity with a group, Soul Intent.

In 1996, Eminem's first album, Infinite was released. But people compare his style with Nas and AZ. After this in 1997, another album, The Slim Shady EP was released. In 2001, his "Devil's Night" album was released. At that time he was a member of the rap group D12. On March 23, 2003 his song "Lose Yourself" from the film 8 Mile became the first rap song to win an Academy Award.

Eminem is also active as a producer of rap records. Eminem worked as producer for the albums including "D12", "Devil's Night", "D12 World". He has also produced tracks on Obie Trice's Cheers as well as 50 Cent's "Get Rich or Die Tryin" and "The Massacre". Eminem also made a guest appearance in 50 Cent's video game "50 Cent: Bulletproof" as a corrupt cop.

Eminem is a fan of Detroit Pistons. "Scarface" (1983) is Eminem's favorite movie. He has his own record company called Shady Records. Eminem is left-handed. Eminem's real hair color is dark brown but he bleaches his hair with peroxide. But in the movie "8 Mile", he did not bleach his hair.
