Carmen Electra was born on April 20, 1972 near Cincinnati, in Sharonville, Ohio. Carmen's birth name was Tara Leigh Patrick, but later it changed to Carmen Electra (as suggested by singer Prince) because she has the same name as the adult film actress Tera Patrick. Carmen is from Irish, German, and Native American (Cherokee) descent. When she was 5, participated in dance competition and won the competition. Carmen later said that dancing is her first love. For four years, Carmen has attended Princeton High School in Sharonville and also attended Walnut Hills High School very briefly. When she was 9, Carmen also has attended the School for Creativity and Performing Arts and attended singing lessons. As a teenager Carmen was dancing in musicals and doing her own choreographing for the school's theater.

When Carmen was 15, she relocated to Minneapolis and lived with her sister and half sister. While being in Minneapolis, Carmen modeled for Target department stores. After four years, Carmen moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue her dream. A week later she met singer Prince who was a Minneapolis native, and signed a recording contract with his company "Paisley Park Records". Paisley Park Records released her first album in 1992. It was self-titled and with single Go-Go Dancer (with a girl rap group). Despite all of Prince's efforts, Carmen's looks and style, her first album was not able to make success. It didn't sell well at all.

In 1995, Carmen appeared in many television programs including "Baywatch". Carmen later appeared on the Nickelodeon show, "ALL THAT". Since the Carmen appeared in many TV series and movies. In March 1996, Carmen appeared on Playboy magazine. Also appeared in Playboy video "Playboy Cheerleaders". The issue led her to an increasing role on television and in movies.

Carmen later hosted the MTV show "Loveline" and also replaced Jenny McCarthy on MTV's innovative show, "Singled Out". Carmen once performed dancing at Kings Island Amusement Park in Ohio. In 1998, Carmen made the video "The Chosen One: Legend of the Raven" along with fellow Playboy model, Shauna Sand Lamas. In 1998, also appeared in a short-lived TV series "Hyperion Bay". Carmen also worked as spokesperson for Budweiser.

Electra made her film debut with a small role in the comedy "Good Burger (1997)". Since then appeared in many movies including "Starf*cker (1998)", Starstruck (1999), "The Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human (1999)", a horror "Scary Movie (2000)" and its sequel "Scary Movie 4 (2006)".

After her divorce to Dennis Rodman, Carmen appeared in "Get Over It (2001)", "Perfume (2001)" and "Sol Goode (2001)". In 2002 Electra appeared in "Whacked!", "Rent Control", "BattleBots" and also hosted "Livin' Large". Carmen's 2003 projects include made-for-TV movie "Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding (2003)", and movies "Uptown Girls (2003)" and "My Boss's Daughter (2003)" and the remake of TV show "Starsky & Hutch (2004)".

Carmen made cameo appearances in The Simpsons episode "The Frying Game" and in the comedy "American Dreamz (2006)" as herself. She had regularly performed with the exotic dance troupe "The Pussycat Dolls". Carmen has also created the Carmen Electra Aerobic Striptease series of DVDs, which combines classic stripping moves with a low impact workout.

In 2005, Carmen has given her voice to animated series "Tripping the Rift" for the character "Six". Also has given voice to the animated comedy "Lil' Pimp (2005)" as a Honeysack. In 2006, Carmen appeared in a "Lolo's Cafe (TV)" as Desiree, and also appeared in films "Date Movie Anne", "Scary Movie 4 Holly" and "Hot Tamale Riley". Carmen next will appear in "Beyond Legend: Johnny Kakota (2006)" and in "I Want Candy (2007)".

Carmen's Personal Life
Carmen had got more attention due to her relationship with the basketball star Dennis Rodman from 1998 to 1999. The couple gets married in 1998, in Las Vegas, Nevada. But divorced the next year, while Rodman claimed that he wasn't in the right state of mind at the time. Electra arranged the marriage when Rodman was drunk. The same time Electra was dating Tommy Lee (a Motley Crue drummer and ex-husband of Pamela Anderson)

Carmen also had a relationship with Cypress Hill's B-Real and Limp Bizkit front man Fred Durst. She also has pent time partying with former Baywatch star Jeremy Jackson.

Carmen's current husband is the musician Dave Navarro (former lead guitarist of the rock band Jane's Addiction). The couple get married on a MTV reality show in 2004 entitled "Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave". When MTV realized that Carmen is going to marry Dave, the MTV people decided to give them the Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey treatment and the result of it is that their marriage on MTV show "Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave". The couple owns the Most Over Amorous Couple Award in 2004.
