Britney Spears's Biography

Britney spears was born on December 2, 1981 in Kentwood, Louisiana, USA to Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears.

As a young she was performing in local dance revues and church choirs. When she was 8, she gave audition for The Mickey Mouse Club. As she was too young, the producer introduced her to a New York agent.

For three she was learning at the Professional Performing Arts School Center. Also appeared as a child actor in several television commercials and off-Broadway productions, one of those is "Ruthless (1991)". At the age of 11, she returned back to Disney Channel to give her second audition for The Mickey Mouse Club. This time she was selected and worked for two years from the ages of 11 to 13.

When she was 15, she moved to New York and started to give auditions for pop bands. She got the attention by Jive Records' Jeff Fenster. Jive Records entered her in studio with Eric Foster White (producer/director of Boyzone, Whitney Houston, Backstreet Boys) and hired a top R&B writer Max Martin, writer of Backstreet Boys to make her debut single. Her debut single was "...Baby One More Time". Jive Records released her debut single in late 1998. The single reached at the top of Billboard charts.

Britney's first album with same title "...Baby One More Time" was released in early 1999. The album reached No. 1 position on charts and remained there for one and half month. The album includes singles "(You Drive Me) Crazy," the "Sometimes," "From the Bottom of My Broken Heart".

At the end of year, the album had sold 10 million copies worldwide. At the age of 17, spears became a superstar and got the attention of several magazines. For her first album she earned two awards including Female Artist of the Year and Favorite Pop/Rock New Artist at the American Music Awards. She also received two Grammy Award nominations including Best New Artist.

Britney's second album named "Oops!...I Did It Again" was released in the May 2000. The title song was reached top 10 on charts, while reached at No. 1 position in Australia and U.K.. The album has sold over 1.3 million copies in the first week of its release. Which made a record of highest sale in first week by a female artist. The album including other hits are "Lucky," "Stronger," and "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know". It had sold over 10 million copies within a year of its release.

Spears made her first world tour in the summer of 2000. At that time, she also wote a book named "Britney Spears' Heart-to-Heart" with her mother, Lynne. In late 2000, Britney earned two Billboard Music Awards, two nominations for American Music Award, and two Grammy nominations including Best Pop Vocal Album for "Oops!... I Did It Again".

In early 2001, Britney released her second book "A Mother's Gift", also co-written by her mother. Her third album "Britney" was released in november 2001, which was also reached at number one position. She became the only female artist whose all first three albums reached at number one position. But it does not made as much success as of first two albums. The only single, which becomes hit in US, was "I'm a Slave 4 U". "Britney" containing singles "I'm a Slave 4 U," "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman," and "Overprotected" all missed the Top Ten. It has sold a total of 15 million copies worldwide.

In 2002, she starred in a film "Crossroads". It reached No.2 in its first week, but quickly declined out of top ten. The movie was including songs from the album "Britney". But her performance was not received well. Later she appeared with a cameo appearance in Mike Myers' Austin Powers: Goldmember, and contributed a remix of "Boys" to the soundtrack.

After her third album she took a break from recording and started to work on a new album "In The Zone", which was released in 2004 and topped the charts in its first week. Again she became the only female artist whose first four album reached No. 1 in its first week of release. It's other singles include "Toxic," "Everytime," and "Me Against the Music". While Spears got her first Grammy award for "Toxic" as Best Dance Recording. Her fourth album has sold over 10 million copies worldwide.

Spears got married on January 3, 2004 to her childhood friend Jason Allen Alexender, but the marriage was ended after fifty-five hours on 5th January. After which she made a world tour "The Onyx Hotel Tour". She toured in North America and Europe, but the remaining dates of the show get cancelled in June, when she injured her knee while filming a video for the single "Outrageous".

In July 2004, Spears announced her engagement with dancer Kevin Federline. Before that Kevin Federline was engaged with actress Shar Jackson, and who was still pregnant with their second child. Britney and Kevin got married on 18 September 2004. After that she announced that she would be taking another career break to give time for her family.

In September 2004, she released her first fragrance "Curious" a floral scent which featuring Louisiana magnolia and golden Anjou pear. Which is the fragrance from Elizabeth Arden. It was reported that she has earned $12 million for this. It was the biggest sales debut in history. It was top selling fragrance in 2004 for which it was honored as Best Women's Fragrance by Fragrance Foundation in 2005.

After the success of "Curious", Spears released her next Elizabeth Arden fragrance, "Fantasy", which is a fruity scent featuring golden quince, red lychee, and cupcake accord. Fantasy was also a successful one.

In 2004 Spears released her greatest hits "My Prerogative". Along with her greatest hits it featured three new songs, including "My prerogative" and "Do Somethin'". It reached at No.4 position in its first week on US charts. It has sold over 255,000 copies in its first week. It becomes the highest debut week sales of a solo female's greatest hits collection leading over Shania Twain, Madonna and Whitney Houston. It has sold over 8 million copies worldwide within the year of its release.

In 2005, Spears appeared with husband Kevin in "Britney and Kevin: Chaotic" on UPN in US. Spears and Kevin worked as executive producer of the series. Although it was panned by most critics and the ratings was also low. In April 2005, Spears announced her pregnancy through her official website. She became mom with Sean Preston Federline born on 14 September 2005.

In late 2005, Jive records released her remix album "B in the Mix: The Remixes". It doesn't make any success due to lack of promotion resulting that outside of top 100 during its first week of release. But to date had made sale over a million copies worldwide.

In February 2006, she made a guest appearance on "Will & Grace". Spears also released her next and third perfume in April 2006 named "In Contrrol". It was a spin-off of "Curious" with crème brûlée and midnight orchid. It was a limited edition perfume.

Spears announced her second pregnancy in Spring of 2006 with a surprise appearance on the "The Late Show with David Letterman". Later she appeared on "The Today Show" and announced that she will not release a studio album for at least one year until her children get older.

In June, 2006, the chorus for her new song "Rebellion" was posted on her official website. It was unknown that who produced that song and when it is recorded.
