Ashley Judd - Biography

Ashley Judd has inherited beauty, brains and talent, and her own unique rural-urban sophistication. She was born on April 19, 1968 in Granada Hills, California. She is daughter of an Italian American marketing analyst for the horseracing industry Michael Ciminella, Jr. and Naomi Judd a great music singer.

She has a half sister Wynonna Judd who is also a well known singer. Her mother was a nurse at the time of her birth and later in 1970s she became a singer with elder daughter. In 1972 her parents were saperated and after that in 1974 her mother took her back to her own native Kentucky.

Ashley Judd started acting on television and appeared in two episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. She also played the daughter of Swoosie Kurtz's character on three of the six seasons of the NBC drama, Sisters. She also has a role in 1993's Natural Born killers.

Judd gained further critical acclaim for her role in 1995's Smoke and Heat. By the end of 1990 she appeared in several thrillers such as Kiss the Girls in 1997 and 1999's Double Jeopardy. 2001's Someone Like You and 2002's High Crimes were her movies of her early 2000s films.

In 1990 Ashley Judd was dated with athlete Brady Anderson, singers Lyle Lovett and Michael Bolton, and actors Matthew McConaughey and Robert DeNiro. Also in 1999 she was engaged with Scottish Indy Racing League driver, Dario Franchitti. They were married on December 12 2001 at Skibo Castle, near Dornoch, Scotland.
